IMPORTANT FACTS TO KNOW....

Permaguard behaves as a slow release Pyrethrum and has been formulated for Garden and Plants - Household - Pets and Animals. For all practical purposes the formulation for each are the same. Use the product indoors or out and even on the day of harvest.

When mixed with water as a spray 200gm of Permaguard will make up to 4 litres. Compare that for economy.
Although not harmful to animals or the environment generally, it may be harmful to fish.

PERMAGUARD - insecticides are formulated using a patented process of adhering Pyrethrins (extracts from Pyrethrum flowers) and a technical Piperonyl Butoxide ( a synergist for the Pyrethrins) to Silicon Dioxide from Diatomic ( microscopic skeletal remains of tiny algae plants called diatoms).

After the Pyrethrins are expended, the remaining shells of the diatoms continue to affect insects by scratching and puncturing their outer surfaces and allowing their vital fluids to escape which causes them to dehydrate.

It has the consistency and appearance of a fine white powder with a very long shelf life. The shape of the diatoms is cylindrical and it is thought that it is this peculiar shape which traps the pyrethrins within it and then slowly releasing it to knock down the insects. Analysis done on Permaguard formulations stored for many years have shown a remarkable retention of the pyrethrins within the powder.

Permaguard has been undergoing evaluation and common use in the United States Of America for many years. It is now being manufactured under license here in Australia by an Australian owned company.

Diatomaceous earth is also known as a fossil shell flour and as such has been used for decades as a supplement for animal feed and for padding out grain flour. It is excellent as a grain storage insecticide and is sold as PERMAGUARD D10 for that purpose.

Apart from its ability to kill insects which come into contact with it, it has a very marked repellency property. The insects seem to instinctively know to remain clear of the product if they wish to avoid harm.

By using electrostatic applicators the use of Permaguard will be extensively increased in agriculture. The applicator puts a negative charge on the dust which then settles evenly on the positively charged foliage, building or ground.
